Chen Zhenkang is a Functional Safety Expert from TUV Rheinland, the globally-recognized certification body for Functional Safety Products, Functional Safety Applications and Functional Safety Management. He specializes in Safety Instrumented Systems, Safety Lifecycle Management, Functional Safety Management and Functional Safety Assessment according to IEC61511 and IEC61508, with more than 12 years’ experiences in local and global projects.
As TUV Rheinland’s one key Functional Safety Expert for Process Industry in Asia Pacific Region, he is currently stationed in Singapore focusing on Functional Safety Assessment, Auditing and Training for Process Plants in Jurong Island of Singapore and other regions.
Prior to TUV Rheinland, he worked for Yokogawa and Schneider Electric in developing Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), as lead engineer in charge of safety technical design, safety verification/validation and safety lifecycle management.
He is also a well-recognized trainer and speaker in the field of functional safety with reference to IEC61508 and IEC 61511. His trainees mainly come from the process industry of Asia Pacific region.

Manuel Diez re-joined TÜV Rheinland as a part of central Industrial Services at the beginning of September 2014, taking over the role of Global Business Field Manager for Lifting Equipment and Machinery, and also for Electrical Engineering and Automation, including Functional Safety and Cybersecurity and Explosion Protection Services.
Before joining TÜV Rheinland for the first time, he led the Electronics Process Department in SEAT in Spain, a company of Volkswagen Group
He was working then for TÜV Rheinland in Spain from 2006 to 2012, as Business Field Manager for Lifting Equipment and Machinery, as well as for Electrical Engineering. He leaded also the Renewable Energy Business in Spain (Wind, Photovoltaic).
Between 2012 and 2014, Mr. Díez left the Company to take over the role of Country Manager for Elecnor in Germany, an installation and construction company with base in Spain.
Mr. Diez is a Master Engineer in Electronics and Automation by the University of Valladolid in Spain.

Ramesh Nadarajah is the Vice President of the Business Stream Industrial Services in Asia Pacific since 2016. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing the regional strategy, strengthening the organizational structure and building up the overall capacity of the Industrial Services business in the Asia Pacific region.
Nadarajah joined TÜV Rheinland in January 2009 as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Manager at TÜV Rheinland Greater China. He was promoted to his current role in recognition of his extensive contribution to the expansion and growth of the CDM and Carbon Services businesses globally for TUV Rheinland. Nadarajah was also selected to participate in the TÜV Rheinland’s Management Development Programme – a corporate initiative to groom promising managers to handle corporate management duties – between 2011 and 2012, General Management Programme in 2014 and the Executive Leadership Programme in 2015.
He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford, and graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics), with First Class Honours from Monash University, Australia.

As a certified emergency operation commander, planner, specialist and investigator, Ivan comes with more than 28 years of experience in the areas of organizational resilience and occupational safety & health management, with focus in fire safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, incident management and enterprise resilience with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and projects with industry corporations.

Prof. Raymond Lau joined the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering in December 2005. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Liang-Shih Fan from the Ohio State University. He currently serves as the associate editor of Advanced Powder Technology by Elsevier Science and a regular reviewer of over 11 international journals such as AIChE Journal, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering Science, etc.
Prof. Lau's areas of expertise are Fluidization, Multiphase Flow, and Reactor Design. His current research works focus on the kinetic and hydrodynamic study of Fisher-Tropsch Synthesis process, particle formulation and inhaler design in dry powder inhalation, and process engineering study of microalgae cultivation.

A/Prof. Lim Kok Hwa is currently the Director, Professional Officers Division and Programme Director (Pharmaceutical Engineering), Chemical Engineering and Food Technology Cluster in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). He completed his MSc. (Chemical Engineering) in National University of Singapore, and his Doctorate in Technische Universität München (TUM), Germany. A/Prof. Lim is a registered Professional Engineer and Chartered Engineer (Chemical & Process Engineering). He is the Programme Director and trainer for the Specialist Certificate in Process Safety. His research interests are Process Safety; Engineering Education; QSAR Analysis of Biological Activity; Computational Chemistry and Material Sciences; as well as Heterogeneous Catalytic Reactions and Surface Sciences. A/P Lim has over 200 publications and International Peer Reviewed Journals, Conferences’ Proceeding and invited talks. He has been invited as Editorial Board Member of scientific journals and act as judge for various competitions.
A/P Lim is currently serving as Council Member and Vice President of The Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES). A/P Lim acted as Member of the Board of Inquiry, Technical Expert and Member of Workgroup to various agencies on safety related matters. A/P Lim is frequently invited as speaker/ panelist in local and regional seminars/ conferences on Process Safety. He helped to organize various annual local seminars/ conferences (e.g. Major Hazard Symposium, Safety Case Symposium, etc.) with industries and professional societies. A/P was the organizing chair for World Engineers Summit 2019.

Dr. Charles Lee is a Program Convenor and Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle (Australia) Singapore. He manages and teaches into the Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety program. He has more than 25 years' experience in environmental research, education and consulting in North America, and Asia-Pacific countries. His experience encompasses consulting at one of the top environmental consulting firms in the San Francisco Bay Area (California) USA, and R&D at the Agency for Science Technology and Research (Singapore). Previously at A*STAR (Singapore) he has a patent on photocatalytic degradation of halogenated compounds. His research and teaching areas include EHS management and sustainability, and environmental sustainability of industries to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Prof. Yi Liu is currently the associate director of Center for Chemical Process Safety-China Section of AIChE, Professor in the College of Chemical Engineering, China University of Petroleum (East China). He completed his MSc. (Applied Chemistry) in Anhui University of Science and Technology, and his Doctorate in State Key Laboratory of Fire Science in the University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Liu is a registered Safety Professional Engineer and Functional Safety Engineer. His research interests are Process Safety; Engineering Education; Hydrogen safety; as well as Fire and explosion prevention. Dr. Liu has over 100 publications and International Peer Reviewed Journals, Conferences’ Proceeding and invited talks.
Dr. Liu is currently serving as deputy dean of College of Chemical Engineering at China University of Petroleum (East China). He also acted as the Member of the Work Safety consultant for Qingdao municipal city. He has organized seven CCPS China Process Safety Conferences since 2013, and he is frequently invited as speaker/ panelist in local and regional seminars/ conferences on Process Safety since 2007.
