Manuel Diez re-joined TÜV Rheinland as a part of central Industrial Services at the beginning of September 2014, taking over the role of Global Business Field Manager for Lifting Equipment and Machinery, and also for Electrical Engineering and Automation, including Functional Safety and Cybersecurity and Explosion Protection Services.
Before joining TÜV Rheinland for the first time, he led the Electronics Process Department in SEAT in Spain, a company of Volkswagen Group
He was working then for TÜV Rheinland in Spain from 2006 to 2012, as Business Field Manager for Lifting Equipment and Machinery, as well as for Electrical Engineering. He leaded also the Renewable Energy Business in Spain (Wind, Photovoltaic).
Between 2012 and 2014, Mr. Díez left the Company to take over the role of Country Manager for Elecnor in Germany, an installation and construction company with base in Spain.
Mr. Diez is a Master Engineer in Electronics and Automation by the University of Valladolid in Spain.

As a certified emergency operation commander, planner, specialist and investigator, Ivan comes with more than 28 years of experience in the areas of organizational resilience and occupational safety & health management, with focus in fire safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, incident management and enterprise resilience with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and projects with industry corporations.

Mr. Terry is a licensed Functional Safety Engineer with TUV Rhineland, and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Engineering & Technology (formerly IEE), UK. Terry is a Certified Shell SIFPro (SIF) facilitator and is passionate about functional safety in the oil and gas industry. He oversees the LOD2/3 Audit Assurance of the HSSE & SP Control Framework in BSP.
Terry has conducted numerous Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to demonstrate the reliability of safety systems to maintain continuous production of oil and gas. He has explored several data analytics (AI) models for sand prediction and pipeline leak detection for the Oil and Gas Industry.
He has been in the industry for over 33 years and a strong focus on competence assurance and is a Qualified Assessor (QA) for HSSE critical positions.

Mr. Hamid Jahanian currently works for Siemens Energy, Australia, as a functional safety expert. Hamid has been in power industry for over 23 years, with a particular focus on functional safety in the past 15 years. He has Master’s degree in Control Engineering. He was certified as a Functional Safety Expert by TÜV Rheinland in 2016, he received Siemens’ global award for technical innovation in 2017, and was recognized as a Senior Key Expert by Siemens global in 2019.
Mr. Hamid has records of some innovations in functional safety, including two on SIS monitoring and SIF analysis, which were filed in the US Patent Office. He has published and presented several research papers in international journals and conferences, developed the first certified functional safety management system in Siemens global, and runs FSEng certification courses in both Germany and Australia. In the industry, he conducts Functional Safety Assessments and HAZOP and SIL workshops; and in research, he is currently focused on Failure Mode Reasoning, which is a new method he invented for analyzing SIS Application Programs.

Mr. Chen Zhenkang is a Functional Safety Expert from TUV Rheinland, the globally-recognized certification body for Functional Safety Products, Functional Safety Applications and Functional Safety Management. He specializes in Safety Instrumented Systems, Safety Lifecycle Management, Functional Safety Management and Functional Safety Assessment according to IEC61511 and IEC61508, with more than 12 years’ experiences in local and global projects.
As TUV Rheinland’s one key Functional Safety Expert for Process Industry in Asia Pacific Region, he is currently stationed in Singapore focusing on SIS Gap Analysis, Functional Safety Auditing, Assessment and Training for Process Plants in Jurong Island of Singapore and other regions (ASEAN, China, Europe, US).
Prior to TUV Rheinland, he worked for Yokogawa and Schneider Electric in developing Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), as lead engineer in charge of safety technical design, safety verification/validation and safety lifecycle management.

Mr. Steve Elliott is the Senior marketing director for Schneider Electric Process Automation control and safety offerings.
He is a TÜV-certified functional safety engineer with more than 20 years experience in the process control and automation industry, and has extensive experience in safety systems and the safety lifecycle, PLC, DCS and SCADA systems.
He began his career in the automobile industry, serving as a control and instrument engineer involved in the research and development of engine control systems at Ricardo Consulting Engineers. He has held subsequent positions at Field Electronics, involved in the design and manufacture of data acquisition systems, and Silvertech International, a system integrator, where he gained experience designing and working with various programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems.
He joined Invensys in 2003, where he has held numerous roles of increasing responsibility, including the role of Triconex sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and then global product director for Triconex safety and critical control systems and offerings, responsible primarily for future direction and go-to-market strategy.
In 2013 he joined ABB Enterprise Software (Ventyx) responsible for the introduction of a new process safety management software solution to the EMEA region before joining Schneider Electric in 2015.
He resides on a number of steering committees and has the pleasure of working with many end users to improve the safety of our industry. He is a recognized presenter at industry forums and events, has published a number of articles and white papers, and is a patent holder.

Mr. Simon is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Registered Functional Safety Engineer (RFSE) and TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Expert (both SIS and PH&RA) with extensive experience in safety-related applications. He is a calm and confident communicator whose expertise in safety is supported by a strong background in numerous engineering processes.
Simon has worked in the specification, design, management and assessment of safety-related systems for over 17 years. He spent the early part of his career working in the machinery sector, designing and commissioning programmable safety instrumented functions for the manufacturing industry. He then moved into safety consultancy, specialising in IEC 61508/61511-compliance and reliability analysis.
He has chaired and facilitated numerous HAZOP, SWIFT, HAZID, BowTie and SIL review studies in the EU, Russia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East (refer to Attachment 1 & 2). In addition, he is an experienced Process Safety Engineer and has worked for major contractors in the Oil & Gas industry, delivering Functional Safety Assessments (FSA) Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) and SIL Verification studies for large-scale projects.
